How To Apply
or Renew
Your CCW
If you are just starting the process to obtain your California CCW, we can assist you with the whole process. You will first need to apply with the Sheriff in the County in which you reside using the links provided below.
Once you have submitted your application, you are required to take a 16-hour course covering the Penal Code, Firearm Safety, Mental Health, and many other topics important to carrying a concealed firearm. You will also be required to qualify with any handgun you want to carry that is registered to you.
Renewals are required to take an 8-hour course to refresh the license holder on changes and current laws. You will also need to qualify with any handguns you wish to keep on your permit, or add at the time of renewal.
